I have a broad research interest in bacterial infections in animals: pigs, cattle, poultry, fur animals, aquaculture fish, and companion animals. Bacteriological diagnostics.
A second focus is on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), including measurement and interpretation of AMR, occurrence and surveillance of AMR, and formulation of treatment guidelines.
A third focus is on food- and waterborne bacterial zoonoses, in particular Salmonella and Campylobacter.
My primary teaching is associated with the veterinary education. It's a privilege to teach coming veterinarians in veterinary bacteriology and antimicrobial resistance on 2nd and 3rd semester. When they reach 4th semester, they meet me again in Food Microbiology and Food Safety.
In addition, I teach on courses in Animal Science, in particular, I will be teaching on Animal Health and Hygiene when the students reach 4th semester.
