Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences offers the following master's degree programmes:
- Master's degree in Agrobiology (The animal science and animal welfare track as well as the organic farming track)

- The Euro-League Master's degree in Organic Agriculture and Food Systems (EUR-Organic)

The department furthermore offers courses and possibilities for dissertation projects for students in related courses such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Molecular nutrition and Food technology and AgroEnvironmental Management.

The department offers exciting project options and good conditions for master's students from its own and related courses who would like to pursue their dissertation in our research environment. Interested master's students can seek inspiration in the department’s project catalogue, or they can contact a researcher with their own ideas.

The department’s courses are founded upon strong and international research environments, and the lecturers are researchers who are among the best in their fields. You will therefore be ensured of the newest and most relevant knowledge. The department has a long tradition of international exchanges, and thus has a strong international environment, with PhD students and postdocs from many different countries. As a student at the department, you would become part of this international research environment.

For students with an interest in organic animal production, the Euro-League double-degree in Organic Agriculture is a way to obtain a tailored international course at a high level. The course is offered in co-operation with the University of Hohenheim, Germany, Universität für Bodenkultur in Austria and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poland.

A double-degree involves obtaining a master's degree from Aarhus University as well as from the partner university at which you complete the rest of the course.

You will be able to obtain work from the broad span of companies connected to agriculture and food production – nationally and internationally – in consultant firms, municipal and regional administrations, ministries, authorities and in the EU. Other occupational opportunities lie in food quality control, certification, teaching and trade associations.

The education can also be seen as a route into the world of research, where you can pursue a career as scientist. This can happen through applying for acceptance into the university's PhD programme, either after your first year of your master's course or after you have completed your dissertation.
