I research how our metabolism changes, for example, during illness or after the intake of drugs, using a method called metabolomics. I also work on developing methods to determine the age of a bloodstain or the time of death of a person. My background is in biotechnology and nutrition, and during my PhD, I used metabolomics to study how dietary fibers affect our health.
My work focuses on helping to prevent and solve crimes, accidents, illnesses, and premature deaths through my research. I also assist authorities by analyzing and comparing cocaine seizures.
