My research focuses on energy, protein, and carbohydrate metabolism in horses in relation to health and disease, including feedstuff evaluation. Several projects have focused on the nutrient composition of grass in relation to grazing and forage production for horses.
I teach comparative nutrition, with a particular focus on equine nutrition, at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels. I supervise students across all levels in projects related to nutrition, health, and disease in horses. Additionally, I mentor several international students each year who come for short- or long-term internships.
I collaborate with national and international academic institutions and companies on research, knowledge exchange, and dissemination related to nutrition, health, and disease in horses.
