The course will cover the following elements:
Lectures covering the topics: Legislation and administration, laboratory animal facilities, ethics, human endpoints, anaesthesia and analgesia, health and hygiene, feeding and nutrition, handling and environment, breeding and reproduction, behavior and pain, planning of animal experiments, non-surgical and surgical procedures in experimental animals (rodents, poultry, pigs and cows), alternatives to animal experimentation and ethics.
